(Update:) A 21-year-old man was detained last night in connection with hit-and-run case at the Babesa expressway, in Thimphu, on Friday night. He was arrested from his home at Khasakha in Khasadrupchu.
The suspect confessed to the crime. He said the alto taxi he was driving that night did run over a 64-year-old man. The man died shortly after he was taken to the hospital. The victim succumbed to severe head injury, and skull, ribs and spinal fractures.
The superintendent of the traffic police said, the person will be charged under the hit and run case after the case is further investigated.
