Government borrows Rs 4 billion from Indian government to ease rupee shortage

MoU-RupeeThe government has borrowed another four billion rupees from the Indian government as standby credit to ease the rupee shortage in the country.

An agreement to this effect was signed today by the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, V.P. Haran, and the Finance Minister, Wangdi Norbu.

The Finance Minister stated that the money would go a long way in meeting the balance of payment with India.
