UgyenTsechup-BCCIPresidentThe President of the Construction Association of Bhutan, Ugen Tsechup Dorji, was elected as the new president of the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

The newly elected president said proving the credibility of the BCCI would be his first priority.

The electoral process of electing the new president and two vice presidents of the BCCI was carried out using electoral voting machine, similar to that of the Election Commission of Bhutan. BCCI-PresidentElection

For the post of the president, the voters cast their votes as ‘yes’ or ‘no’ as there was only one candidate contesting for the post.

Similarly, the two Vice-Presidents of the BCCI were also elected. A total of five candidates contested for the post of Vice-Presidents.

With the highest votes in the first round of selection, Dechen Wangmo, a private entrepreneur running a private school, became the youngest and the first woman Vice-President of the chamber.
