Bhutanese Boxers at the Asian Games faring well

Bhutanese boxers at the Asian games in Guangzhou in China are at their best.

In today’s games, Chencho Wangdi beat Wu Chi Kit of Macau by eight points and will face Golara Forootan of Iran on Friday. Yesterday, boxer Singyel Phub took victory from Kyrgyztan’s Abdyldabek Ulu Syi in the Men’s 56 kilogram category. He beat his opponent by a single point. Singyel Phub will now face Kazakhstan’s Tulegenov Daniyar tomorrow.

The third boxer from Bhutan, Kinley Gyeltshen will face Saludar Rey of the Philippines tomorrow.

26 athletes from Bhutan are taking part in the Asian Games this year.

Bhutan is being represented by His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck and other officials at the Asian Games.
