Another pay raise discussion to be tabled in the parliament

The National Assembly Speaker has confirmed with BBS that the 6th session of the parliament will discuss and hopefully decide on the pay revision for the civil servants. The discussion, he said will be based on the recommendations given by the Pay Comission last year.

The 6th session of the National Assembly as it commences from Friday among other issues will also discuss a series of bills. These include the Penal Code Amendment Bill, the Civil and Criminal procedure Amendment Bill, the Child Care and Protection Bill and the Anti-Corruption Amendment Bill.

The Parliament- during its 16-day session will also discuss the Sales Tax, Customs and Excise Amendment Bill, the Public Finance Amendment Bill and also deliberate on the SAARC agreement on trade in services.

The Consumer Protection Bill and the Bhutan Institute of Medical Science Bill are also to be tabled for discussions.
