SASEC countries review projects on transportation

The Trade Facilitation and Transport Working Group Meeting for South Asian Sub regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) on was held in Thimphu today. The working group members from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal reviewed the progress of transport and trade facilitation projects in the region.

They also reviewed the projects included in the Asian Development Bank’s (ABD) future programs of assistance. In transport sector, they discussed the status of transport projects, including the design and cost.

The meeting also saw discussion on trade facilitation reforms in SASEC countries. The Asian Development Bank also presented the future projects of the member countries.

ADB in consultation with the development member’s countries prepares countries operation business plans.

The South Asian Sub regional Economic Cooperation was formed with the intent to undertake project-based and results-oriented kin sub regional cooperation among the member countries.
