Construction of Ula farm road will resume: PM

The Prime Minister, Jigmi Y. Thinley, visited the 8.5 kilometre Ula farm road construction site in Wangduephodrang today. Lyonchhoen decided to visit the site after the government received several requests from the people to address issues preventing the completion of the road. About only 1.5 kilometre of the farm road has been complete.

Lyonchhoen assured the people of Ula village that the construction of the farm road will soon resume. The construction work was stopped for over three months because of inadequate funds.

Construction work on the farm road began in June 2011.

Lyonchhoen said the people of Jalla and Ula will get their road provided that it is built in an environmentally friendly way. An additional Nu 4 million has been allotted by the government to resume work.
