Disbanded gang members come together for good cause

Nearly after two months of disbanding the gangs, some of the members have come together. But, this time it is for a good cause. Refined and rejuvenated, they were at the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital in Thimphu for a cleaning campaign today.
During the half-day cleaning campaign, they cleaned toilets, washed window panes and swept the floors. And they are doing it after a very long time.
“After disbanding the gang we feel proud that our society is accepting us,” said one of the volunteers, adding that the situation would soon drag to their old habits if they don’t engage themselves. “We feel great. We feel we are doing something good for the society.”
“After disbanding the gangs, we thought of doing a productive work and show the public a good example,” said another.
They also attended a life-skill and a meditation programme. The volunteers said that if they don’t remain themselves engaged, situation could drag them into their earlier habits.
Leading the team, Lam Shenphen Zangpo said that anyone committing mistakes in life was not bad a bad person. “Also for the society, I think when people say “gang or bad guys” they think very badly but actually it’s not the case. Sometimes we do bad things, we all do bad things and make mistakes in life. And it’s good for the society to see these guys are not bad kids.”
