Still battling to control the fire

(Update) Firefighters are still battling to put out the remaining fire at Wangduephodrang Dzong. Charred rubble is all that remains of the historic 17th century Dzong. The fire started at about 4 pm yesterday.

Search team wearing protective gears are clearing the debris and trying to recover the remains of statues, religious scripts and other documents.

The fire is believed to have started from the ground floor of one of the offices in the Dzong. The Home Minister, Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, said the cause of the fire could probably be short circuit.

All most all the administrative documents have been lost.  But, most of the sacred relics have been saved.
