Fuel price drops further

More than two weeks since the last revision, fuel prices in the country dropped further. At Lungtenzampa fuel station in Thimphu, a litre of petrol now costs Nu 49.91 and for a litre of diesel, it is Nu 46.73.

The price of petrol was Nu 58.63 a litre and diesel Nu 53.52 a litre a few weeks ago. The revision is following the decline in global fuel prices.

In the international market, prices had settled Monday at their lowest level since 2002 amid a drastic fall in demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the price of subsidized liquefied petroleum (LPG) gas has increased. However, for non-subsidized LPG, it has decreased. Subsidised LPG will now cost Nu 589, an increase of Nu 19 from the last revision, and the non-subsidised LPG decreased to Nu 817 from Nu 882.
