MoH calls back doctors undergoing specialisation abroad

As the country boosts its efforts to combat the COVID-19 situation, 48 doctors undergoing specialisation abroad have been called back into the country. Some of them have already arrived and are kept in quarantine, while others will be reaching soon.

The Health Ministry also contacted private doctors to create a pool of health professionals.

“The Health Ministry talked with the private doctors and even the laboratory technicians working in ministries, for example, the Agriculture Ministry. We have plans like this to bring in extra human resources, in case the worst scenario hits the country. We have talked with private and armed force personnel and even assigned the responsibilities. Everything is ready,” said Dechen Wangmo, the Health Minister.
