Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre inaugurated

Further strengthening the Indo-Bhutan relationship, the Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre was inaugurated in the capital yesterday.

The Centre has been named in memory of the founding fathers of the Indo-Bhutan relationship, Pandit Jawarahal Nehru and His late Majesty the Third Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

The Centre was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Karan Singh, the President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Lyonpo Minjur Dorji.

The Centre will carry out regular cultural and artistic programmes and will provide a platform for both Bhutanese and Indian cultures. It will also hold Yoga and Music classes.

A photo exhibition on Buddhism in India was also opened.
