Two Bhutanese Para athletes out of the Asian Para Games 2018

The two Paralympic athletes, representing the country for the first time are out of the qualification rounds from the 3rd Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

30-year-old para archer Pema Rigsel lost to Malaysia in the seven meters wheelchair recurve archery.

Similarly, Kinley Dem, 24, para shooter did not qualify for the finals as she scored 580.9 out of 654 in the 10 meters wheelchair air rifle shooting.

More than 2800 athletes from 43 countries are taking part in the week-long Asian Para Games, which will end on October 13.

The Asian Para Games features sports like archery, para athletic, badminton, chess, cycling, volleyball sitting, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair fencing.

Bhutan Paralympic Committee was established in September 2017 and is the youngest Paralympic Committee in the world.
