Bhutan defeats Sri Lanka in SAFF U-15 women’s championship

Bhutan defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship. Yesterday’s win is the Bhutanese team’s first in the ongoing championship.

The Bhutanese girls are now preparing to face India in their second match later today.

“We are focusing on our second match against India but as you all know we are small and weak compared to the Indian team. But I assure you we will do our best and we are expecting a good match,” Head Coach Sung Jae Lee said.

In the second match yesterday, the Nepalese girls defeated Pakistan 4-0.

Bhutan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal have confirmed their spots in the next round of the tournament.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been eliminated from the tournament after they failed to win a single game.
