The College of Zorig Chusum in Trashi Yangtse has introduced a national diploma programme in Jimzo or sculpture.
The two-year programme was inaugurated yesterday with 11 students in its first batch.
The students will not only learn skills in sculpting but will also study management, research and literature.
According to a news release from the labour ministry, the programme is introduced to promote the country’s unique traditional arts and crafts.
There are plans to introduce several other diploma courses as well in the 12th Five Year Plan.
