U-16 Cricket team in Thailand

The Under-16 boys’ cricket team left for Thailand on Sunday to participate in the upcoming Asian Cricket Council Challenge Cup to be held on March 3.  The team has 14 players and two officials.This is the second time the team has participated in the competition.

Bhutan will play its first match with UAE on 3rd March.Players were selected during the month long trial camp in Thimphu. They also practiced at Ugyen Academy in Punakha to suit the weather conditions.

The team’s coach, Ugyen Dorji said most of the players are new but prepared for the competition.Six countries will participate in the tournament. It is a league match and the team with highest point will be considered as the winner.

Meanwhile, the team will play few practice matches arranged in Chiang Mai by the Cricket Association of Thailand.
