Man detained for attempted rape

The Police in Wangdue Phodrang arrested a 31-year-old man for attempting to rape a child on Monday. According to the police, the suspect had taken the 17-year-old girl on a drive along the Nahi GC Road on Monday. They had met on social media.

Riverside Walk inaugurated in the capital

Farmers finally get adequate irrigation water supply in Norbuling village

A Director of BPC sentenced to eight months for sexual harassment

One of the directors of the Bhutan Power Corporation is sentenced to eight months in prison. The Thimphu District Court found Sandeep Rai guilty of sexually harassing his subordinate while she was on her night duty in the office, last year. The court passed the judgment today.

Bhutan’s GDP growth rate leaps to 4.09 % in 2021

Bhutan’s economy is gradually bouncing back to the pre-COVID levels. According to the National Statistics Bureau’s (NSB) National Accounts Statistics (NAS) released last week, the country’s Gross Domestic Product or the GDP ticked up to 4.09 per cent last year.

Stray animals menace at vegetable market- Paro

Flood protection wall along Lekpagangchhu to complete by December- Lhuentse

The COVID pandemic situation has delayed many construction activities across the country. One such project is the construction of a 600-meter-long flood protection wall along the Lekpagangchhu stream in Lhuentse. The project was supposed to be complete in January this year but is now overdue by more than seven months.
