RCSC revises winter timing

The RCSC decided to revise the winter working hours of the civil servants starting from 1st November this year for the first time. Unlike previous years, the working hours during winter will also be from 9 AM to 5 PM, the same as during summer. According to the Chairperson of the RCSC, Karma Hamu Dorjee, the working hours will be revised depending on the situation in the future.

Residents want RSTA to increase the frequency of driving tests- Samtse

Youth farmers commit to continue farming- Tongling in Trashigang

While most businesses struggled during the pandemic, their farm flourished. The group, Nazhoen Sonam Detshen, cultivated vegetables on four acres of land leased from a private individual for a period of ten years.

Boys’ hostel of Jurmey Primary School on fire- Monggar

A fire destroyed the top floor of the two-storeyed boys' hostel of Jurmey Primary School in Monggar today. While there are no reports of any casualties, about 25 students lost all their belongings to the fire. They were attending their evening prayers during the incident.

Third dose of the COVID vaccine only for selected group of population

Upon the recommendation of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NI-TAG), the health ministry has decided to roll out the third dose of COVID vaccination. However, the dose will be first provided only to front-line workers and those with underlying health conditions. For the general population, the NI-TAG is considering a booster dose.

Montanga-based oxygen plant commissioned- S/Jongkhar

The oxygen plant at Montanga Industrial Park in Samdrup Jongkhar is ready to export liquid oxygen to India. Liquid oxygen is crucial for the treatment of severe COVID-19 patients since the disease affects lung functioning. It helps them breathe. The supply is expected to help India in its fight against coronavirus.
