Flood mitigation works in Trashi Yangtse town to be complete this month

The construction of the flood protection wall along the Serkhang stream, which flows through Trashi Yangtse town, is nearing completion.

Tashiling residents in Gelegphu without power supply  

More than 50 households in Tashiling Demkhong under Gelegphu Thromde in Sarpang have been without  electricity for three days now. The power blackout has been caused by a damage to an underground power cable. 

Dairy products not easily available in SJ despite abundant milk production

Samdrup Jongkhar produces almost 2,500 litres of milk in a day, but the town relies on nearby districts for its  butter and cheese supply. Now, this is because local farmers prefer to sell milk over churning it into cheese and butter.
