Suspect detained in connection with Radio Jockey’s death

(Update): Thimphu police have detained a student in connection with the death of a 26-year-old Radio Jockey. Sources say the police were able to track down the suspect while tracing the deceased’s cell phone, on Wednesday. The deceased’s cell phone and wallet were missing when his body was found on January 2.

RMA releases Rs 35.7 M from new exchange counters

The Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) has released Rs 35.7 M in the last three days from the new exchange counters established in Thimphu and Phuentshogling. The amount withdrawn was more in Thimphu than in Phuentshogling.

A new bypass road for Chamkhar Town

Come March and Chamkhar town in Bumthang will have a new bypass road. The road stretching from Chamkhar till Dekiling will shorten about a half-kilometre distance. The road is the first project under Bumthang Urban Infrastructure Development Project.
