The former Phuentshogling Thrompon, who was disqualified from contesting again yesterday, held an office of profit, all along his previous term. Many are questioning how he could possess a valid trade license, all these years, even though the election act forbids. Tsheten Dorji had served as the Phuentshogling Thrompon for the last five years.

Suspect in death of Radio Jockey could be charged for involuntary manslaughter

Thimphu Police say an 18 year-old suspect could be charged for involuntary manslaughter of a 26 year-old Radio Jockey. They had arrested the suspect on January 13. The suspect is a former convict.

Case of alleged molestation forwarded to the court

Damphu police forwarded the case, involving a 43-year-old man who allegedly molested his niece, to Tsirang District Court, today. The man is accused of incest and also trying to escape detention.

OL clarifies elections related rumours

Speaking to the people of Lower Kheng in Trong under Zhemgang, the Opposition Leader, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho said His Majesty the King has commanded that the members of the political parties clarify the rumours.
