The bribery and manipulation case involving some immigration officials and a foreign worker recruitment agencies is in the middle of evidence hearing. The hearing is taking place in Phuentshogling Dungkhag Court. Office of Attorney General (OAG) started prosecuting the case on May 11, this year.
Office of Attorney General (OAG) will now handle the case of illegal transaction of 4.74 acres dry land in Trongsa where View Point Resort is built. The Anti-Corruption Commission had handed over the case to OAG.
(Update): The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources has sent a reminder letter to the Bhutan Broadcasting Service’s Chairman to respond to their directives. Labour ministry had directed BBS to pay a penalty of Nu 11,250 for violating the procedures of regulation while recruiting a manager. It had sent the letter on July 3.
Bhutan will not join the new global financial institution called the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) anytime soon. The global financial institution was founded by China recently in a bid to finance infrastructure development in the Asian region and abroad.

Price of petrol and diesel in the country has been reduced following the reduction in India. A press release from the trade department says the price of petrol has been reduced by Nu 2 a litre. Diesel will be cheaper by over Nu 3.
