Special prayer ceremony for Fourth Druk Gyalpo

His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Gyaltshuen, and the Royal family members offered prayers for His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo at the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Choeten in Nyezergang, Punakha on Sunday. His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo was also present at the ceremony. All the important religious institutions in Bhutan, Nepal and India performed special prayers for His Majesty the 4th Druk Gyalpo’s long life.

Green tax, detrimental to economy: BCCI

The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has submitted a paper to the government studying and recommending impacts, of the five percent fuel tax, on the country’s economy.

Another windstorm hit Samtse, major damages reported

Tigers thriving at higher altitude: report reveals

There are more number of tigers roaming in the Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park. The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, UWICE, in Bumthang conducted a survey on tiger population in the park using camera trappings. The report, which was launched recently, states that tigers are thriving even at higher altitudes.
