A 44-year-old man from Lhuntse is recovering in an intensive care unit in Monggar hospital after he was mauled by a bear. The operation lasted 10 hours. He said he encountered two bears while collecting mushroom in the nearby forest. He sustained injuries on his face, head, chest and hands.

Ruling and Opposition point the finger over unemployment

The ruling and opposition are pointing the finger at each other over the increasing unemployment rate. In the National Assembly session today, the ruling MPs said the increase of unemployment rate from 2.1 percent to 2.9 percent over the last one year, is the previous government’s doing.
