Woman supposedly manhandled by a Gup and GAO

A 55-year-old woman, working as caretaker at a gewog centre in Paro, was reportedly battered by her superiors. The incident occurred on September 16. The victim was reportedly manhandled by the Administrative officer and the Gup of Naja Gewog.

SJ Initiative begins another project

The Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative (SJI) is implementing a project called "Climate change mitigation through reduced use of fuel wood and waste management".

Bhutan Football Federation is training 18 school coaches, including local football enthusiasts, to become grassroots coach educator. After the completion of the training, they will be teaching basic football skills to the children between six to 12 years. Bhutan Football Federation has been organizing such trainings in almost all the dzongkhags.

Thirty out-of-school youth completed a five-day life skills training conducted by the Youth Centre in Phuentsholing. The training concluded yesterday. The youth were taught conflict resolution, coping with stress, decision-making and volunteerism. The participants were a mix of degree, class twelve and ten graduates.

Thimphu City Bus: A service in need of a boost

Bhutan Postal Corporation Limited introduced city bus service in the capital in 2002. Since then, it has been steadily providing service to the people. Although, the people admit that city bus service is a cheap mode of transportation, they suggest for an increased number of city buses in the near future.
