Community centres in Trashigang underutilised

Most community centers in Trashigang lack internet and other facilities to provide services to the people, says the local leaders. This issue was raised during the Trashigang DzongkhagTshogdue, yesterday.

Tsirang District Court sentenced a 24-year-old man to 12 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl. The court also ordered the convict and his relatives to pay a medical compensation of Nu.150,000 to the victim. The incident happened at Tsirang Toed on June 15, this year when the victim was herding cattle.

This year, the highest price that a kilogram of Cordyceps fetched was close to 900,000 against over Nu.1.2 mn last year. Cordycep auction in Sephu Gewog was held on July 22 and July 23.
