MoAF signs performance agreement

The 10 ministries will be reviewed at the end of each year under the performance agreement. Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay said if the targets are not achieved, the ministry will have to submit an explanation.

For the first time in Bhutan, the National Centre for Aquaculture in Gelegphu hatched about 1,200 Golden Masheer fingerlings. The fingerlings were released in the fresh water of Rongrichu, yesterday.

Four-day training on earthquake resistant construction ends

A four-day training on earthquake resistant construction concluded in Chhumig under Bumthang yesterday. The training was conducted at the Technical Training Institute.

The Research Development Center of Wengkar and Yusipang have installed electric fence covering over 7 kilometres in Trongsa. The fencing covers Kabba and Dabba villages.  Locally made materials, such as polythene pipes, nails, metallic wire and the solar panel were used for the construction. The fencing costs about Nu. 35,000. It is expected to last for about five years.

Land scam rampant: ACC’s Chairperson

The Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Dasho Neten Zangmo, said land scam is rampant in most of the dzongkhags. She said there are many cases of government land, illegally acquired by private individuals. Dasho said investigations will be launched into these cases.

“Bhutanese Textiles in High Fashion” opened

An exhibition titled “Bhutanese Textiles in High Fashion”, opened at the Textile Museum in Thimphu, today. Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck graced the opening ceremony.
