The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in New Delhi, Mr.Wei Wei, called on the Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang, this morning.

The 4.2 kilometre bypass road that will shorten the distance between Tingtibi and Gongphu in Zhemgang is mainly being constructed for the upcoming Chamkharchu Hydropower Project in Degala. The road is also expected to benefit the four gewogs of Lower Kheng.

The police and public partnership programme in the Dzongkhag was launched, yesterday. In Tsirang too, the Friends of Police was launched with 30 community representatives, last week. The Friends of Police initiative which was started last year aims to create awareness among the public about the police and fosters partnership between police and citizens.

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay launched the Bhutan Thailand Friendship Association yesterday. Hundreds of Bhutanese and Thais gathered to celebrate the occasion.
