Man in Paro sentenced for involuntary manslaughter

A 55-year-old man from Pema Gatshel was sentenced to a prison term of 4 years and 6 months by the Paro Dzongkhag Court for involuntary manslaughter, yesterday.

B.Ed. students graduate

Two hundred and ninety seven graduates have passed out from the two Colleges of Education in Samtse and Paro. One hundred and seventy four PGDE graduates have passed from the Samtse college of Education. All the B.Ed. candidates have scored more than the required 50 percent in the Bhutan Civil Service Examinations, with the lowest score being 55.39 percent. The results are said to be better than 2011.

OL questions the government on the delay of road construction

The Opposition Leader, Tshering Tobgay, questioned the government on the delay of the construction of the farm road that will stretch from Gakiling to Sombaykha gewog in Haa, in the National Assembly, today.

The east west highway is finally opened to traffic after the heavy snowfall on Saturday blocked the highway. The road block at Thrumshingla was cleared at 3 AM today. The labourers worked throughout the night and cleared the road till Gayzamchu.
