Accident kills two

Two men aged 27 and 32 died on the spot when the Tata Manza car they were travelling in veered off the road. The car plunged 250 metres below the road. The incident took place at around 1 PM yesterday afternoon in Kamji, about 24 kilometres from away from Phuentsholing.

Bridge opened in Chhuboog Gewog, Punakha

The 118 metre new bridge over Mochu River under Chhuboog Gewog in Punakha is now open. The bridge at Bali village, will benefit some 27 households under Chhuboog Gewog. The new bridge will benefit especially the students and villagers of Bali.

End on an extravagant life

Police described it as one of the largest seizure in recent times. With the arrest of three men, police recovered jewelry, cash and other items worth millions of Ngultrum. The three, all from Wangdue Phodrang were arrested on charges of a series of burglary in the capital Thimphu.  One is a former monk and the other two are school drop-outs.

Call for Safety and Health at Work

Poor safety practices, accidents at work places due to human negligence are a major concern.  To create a safe working environment, Bhutan for the first time joined the Global Community in observing the world day for safety and health at work. Two teachers of Sengten lower secondary school died in an accident, Thursday evening in Samtse. One was killed on the spot and the other died on the way to Samtse hospital.

Missing Bhutanese boy to be handed over to Bhutan Embassy in New Delhi

A 16-year-old boy, who went missing since September last year from Zhemgang was found in Mumbai, India. The boy will be returned to the Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi on Friday.
