Police in Sarpang confiscated 300 kilograms of Chewing Tobacco and eight cartons of cigarettes worth Nu. 25,000 from a Bhutanese couple on Thursday.

Woman succumbs to rabies

A 36-year-old woman died of rabies at the Gelephu Central Referral Hospital on Sunday. The woman was bitten by her neigbour’s pet dog in February this year. This is the first case of death caused by rabies in Gelephu this year. In 2009, two students died of rabies.
