Bhutan-India Friendship Tennis Tournament kick-starts

The 4th Bhutan-India Friendship Tennis Tournament began in the capital, yesterday. This year, the tournament commemorates the 50 years of diplomatic relation between the two countries.

Team Buddhist Art has won this year’s Jigme Dorji Wangchuck Memorial National Archery Tournament. This is the team second consecutive win.

Less participating teams at Coronation Cup Basketball Championship

This year’s Coronation Cup Basketball Championship saw only 22 teams including five women teams. Last year, 46 teams including seven women teams participated in the tournament.

The Bhutanese karate team has bagged one silver and four bronze medals at the Nihonkhan karate Federation Championship.

5th National Colleges & Institutes Karate Championship ends

The College of Natural Resources is the winner of the 5th National Colleges & Institutes Karate Championship.
The Faculty of Nursing & Public Health came second.
A total of 125 students from seven different colleges took part in the championship this time.
The championship, which was held in Punakha, ended yesterday.

Today, Bhutan has about 150 national women participants in 13 disciplines of sports. However, the figure is not the same when it comes to women holding executive positions in sports.
